The current political landscape in Will County is very peculiar as of late. There seems to be a stark resemblance between the above map and the same map that represented the Presidential election map. Will County in years passed, has been a very strong republican area. The untrained eye would view the graphic and it’s sea of red and think that it’s still a Republican stronghold. However, there are two areas of the county that have become rather large population centers. Mainly the Joliet area going north to Bolingbrook, and the Crete area going north to Cook County. Does Will County need an electoral college for Countywide offices? Does geography matter? If geography isn’t important, why so many municipal governments in those areas. Why not just one government, City of Will?
